Condenser Coils

The same medium being used and function as Evaporator coils to heat exchange but just that now the condenser coils medium is hot. Function of condenser coils is to heat exchange to remove heat from refrigerant and bring down refrigerant temperature for cooling purposes.

Condenser coils are one of the key components needed for an HVAC system to function and are located in all outdoor condensing units; Be it unitary units, split units, VRVs, VRFs, package unit or Air-cooled scroll or screw chillers.

Common problems are fins are badly oxided/corroded causing heat exchange difficulty which result in reducing cooling capacity. Apart from that, serious refrigerant leakage may shorten compressors lifespan and cause energy consumption to increase too.

Today many manufacturer went towards the direction of manufacturing aluminum micro-channel coils due to compact the size of the outdoor unit.
